Tron (TRX) and vSport, a blockchain project under the Sports Value Foundation, just recently announced their alliance – just before the World Cup kicks off. vSport is directed by Wesley Sneijder, a Dutch professional soccer star who currently plays midfielder for the Qatar Stars League club Al-Gharafa.

vSport claims they are the world’s first open, non-profit, blockchain powered ecosystem geared towards the sports industry. The company seeks to build a sports platform that teams up with leading companies to give athletes and fans access to smart wearables, national team nutritionists, world-class payment systems, and authorized distributors at the World Cup.
While vSport may not be groundbreaking for the blockchain community, it is geared specifically towards a sport that holds 4 billion fans[8] – making it the most popular sport in the world.
