Well, that didn’t last long. After yesterday’s high[1] today’s prices for Ripple (XRP) and Stellar (XLM) feel especially difficult. Both coins are down and the drops may not be done yet.
Ripple (XRP)
Already, Ripple has dropped below the $1.00 line. XRP is currently selling at $0.933766, putting the coin down 10.59% in the past 24 hours – quite the difference from yesterday.

In case you’re not aware, much of the hype inflating Ripple’s price yesterday had to do with the rumors that Coinbase might be adding XRP to its exchange.
Just like the last time[3], these rumors have now been squashed by Coinbase.
Coinbase tweeted out “Our January 4th, 2018 statement continues to stand: we have made no decision to add additional assets to either GDAX or Coinbase. Any statement to the contrary is untrue and not authorized by the company.”

Despite the many fluctuations of XRP price in the recent weeks, Ripple is still holding strong as the 3rd largest cryptocurrency with a current market cap of $36.5 billion.

Stellar (XLM)
Stellar is currently selling for $0.347020, putting the coin down 8.79% in the past 24 hours. Not as bad as Ripple, but still not great.

Last week, a pre-release to a Stellar Lumens wallet was tweeted out[8] by Crypto-Central. Over the weekend, Stellar looked to be growing, possibly as a result of this news (Stellar news is few and far between in most cases) and Stellar’s growth looked set to continue yesterday as well. However, as Monday went on, Stellar began to lose ground, and now today, XLM is dropping off.
