Guests staying at Virgin Hotels ^[4] in four US cities can now securely verify their identity, check in and receive a mobile room key via an app on their iOS or Android device before arriving at their hotel.

To use the service, guests first need to join the hotel chain’s The Know loyalty scheme. Membership also enables them to use the Virgin Hotels Lucy mobile app ^[5] to access an expanded range of contactless in-room controls and leave cashless gratuities for staff from their mobile device.

“By integrating with The Know program, Lucy now offers a seamless connection between one’s loyalty profile and the booking platform, creating a personalized and streamlined guest experience,” Virgin Hotels says.

“Lucy’s secure ID verification allows guests to safely check in and use their device as the mobile key.
