Adidas has announced that it is collaborating with Ready Player Me to develop a personality-based AI-generated avatar creation platform that shall feature Adidas Originals’ Ozworld shoe collection.
The personality-based AI-generated avatar creation platform will be launched on April 8 after which Both Adidas NFT holders and Adiclub members will have early access to the platform before the avatars’ first installment launches on April 28.
The new platform that Adidas will be launching will be linked to the company’s latest Ozworld shoe collection. Ready Player Me’s technology allows users to develop different metaverse characters with a single identity like the futuristic Adidas sneakers.
The Ozworld Sneakers
The revolutionary sneakers bearing the name Ozworld were initially launched in the 90s and they featured a “dynamic adiprene cushioned outsole and upper.”
The partnership will enable Ready Player Me fans to create metaverse avatars that use the Adidas Ozworld shoe brand.
While announcing the partnership on Tuesday, Adidas said:
“Each unique avatar will be able to traverse the web through a bespoke partnership with Ready Player Me. This is the first brand partnership that pushes the limits of the platform – offering interoperability in generative avatars with over 1,500 different metaverse apps and games.”
Adidas entry into the metaverse
Adidas has been making major strides into the metaverse and Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) collectibles.
Towards the end of November 2021, Adidas revealed that it had partnered with The Sandbox and Coinbase. In the following month of December, the company went ahead to collaborate with the famous Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT project.
